CrossFit FAQs

  • Do I have to be fit to join?

No. No matter your current fitness level, you can start right away. Every workout is programmed with Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginner options, so each session meets you where you are. Our program is built for universal scalability, which makes it a great fit for any committed person regardless of experience. Trust the process and keep showing up.

  • Do I need any experience first?

No experience needed. Our coaches will help you get started with appropriate modifications to meet you where you are at. If you are nervous about getting started, completing our Foundations course via private coaching is a great option to prepare you for class.

  • How do I get started?

Book a free intro by clicking any "Book a Free Intro" button on the site. It is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation where we learn your goals and help you choose the right starting point. If you do not see a time that works, fill out the Contact Us form and we will reach out to get you scheduled.

  • What should I bring to my first class?

Comfortable athletic clothing, supportive training shoes, and a water bottle. Just show up a few minutes early so your coach can get you set up.

  • What kind of exercises can I expect during a workout?

Every class includes a thorough warm up and cool down. Workouts vary day to day in length and stimulus and may include weightlifting, bodyweight or gymnastics movements, and cardio (monostructural) work. Expect movements like push ups, rowing, deadlifts, and cleans. Your coach will explain each movement and give you options that match your current ability.

  • How long is a class?

Most classes run about an hour, including the warm up, the workout, and the cool down.

  • How often do you recommend coming to class?

If you are a beginner, start with 2 to 4 classes per week and build toward 4 to 5 per week after your first few months. Your body needs time to adapt to the intensity, so listen to it and allow recovery between training days. Our first priority is consistency and good mechanics, then intensity. Intensity drives results, but giving 110 percent every day is not realistic. It is completely fine to show up, see how you feel, and dial the intensity back when you need to.

  • How long does it take to see results?

Results take time, but they come with consistency. Beginners often notice changes quickly, sometimes feeling stronger and fitter within the first 30 days.

  • What if I have an injury or a physical limitation?

We coach around you. Our head coach and co-owner is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and every movement can be modified to fit your body and history. Tell us about any injury or limitation at your free intro so we can plan accordingly. We also offer Physiotherapy in house if you need more focused rehab support.

  • Is nutrition coaching available?

Yes. Nutrition coaching is available as its own program or bundled with your CrossFit membership. Interested in getting started? Book A Free Intro.

  • What sets you apart from other gyms?

Our head coach and co-owner is a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Walter's expertise sets the foundation for a professional, welcoming environment with effective programming, strong coaching, and a real emphasis on modifying movement for every individual. Thoughtful warm ups and cool downs help reduce injury risk and support recovery.

  • I'm visiting Buena Vista. Can I drop in?

Yes. Visitors are welcome to drop in to a class. See our Drop In page for details and to reserve your spot.

  • Can I shower at the gym?

Yes. We have two ADA accessible restrooms and showers, and we provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and towels.

  • What is the parking situation?

There is street parking on Linderman Ave and overflow parking on the west side of Eddyline Brewery (park in front of the pallets). Please do not park in front of bay door 1 or in the Buena Vista Public Library parking lot.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

We accept ACH (bank transfer) and all major credit and debit cards. We pass along processing fees directly to members (1.5% + .30 for ACH and 2.6% + .25 for Credit/Debit card).

  • Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Many of our services may be eligible for HSA or FSA funds. Visit our HSA/FSA page or ask us at your free intro and we will walk you through what qualifies and how to submit.
