Private Coaching
faqs
Do I need to be a Fortitude Fitness member?
No. Private coaching is available to both members and non-members. For non-members, it is a great way to experience CrossFit-style training in a quieter, more personalized setting.
How often should I do private coaching?
Frequency depends on your goals. Some athletes benefit from weekly sessions, while others schedule private coaching periodically to fine-tune skills or address specific challenges. We’ll help you find a rhythm that supports consistency and long-term progress.
How do I get started?
The first step is to book a free intro call. We’ll learn more about your goals, training history, and preferences, then recommend a private coaching plan that makes sense for you.
What sets you apart from other gyms?
Our head coach and co-owner is a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Walter’s expertise lays the foundations for a unique & professional gym environment with effective programming, coaching and emphasis on exercise modification for all individuals. Effective warmups and cool downs help to minimize risk of injury and aide in recovery.
How often do you recommend coming to workout classes?
If you are a beginner, we recommend starting with 2 to 4 classes a week, with the goal of working up to 4-5 a week after your first few months. It may take a while for your body to get used to training at that intensity, so listen to your body and know you will need recovery time between training days. Our first goal is consistency and good mechanics, then intensity. Intensity gets us results but it is unrealistic to give 110% everyday. It is ok to show up to the gym, adjust to how your body feels and dial back the intensity.
Can I shower at the gym?
Yes! We have two ADA accessible restrooms and showers. We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and towels.
Can private coaching replace group classes?
It can, but it doesn’t have to. Some athletes use private coaching as their primary training method, while others use it alongside group classes to work on technique, skills, or specific goals. Your coach will help you determine the best approach based on your needs.
Is private coaching appropriate for beginners?
Yes. Private coaching is often an excellent option for beginners who want to build confidence, learn foundational movements, and understand training principles before—or instead of—joining group classes.
How much does private coaching cost?
Private coaching is offered as: Single sessions, 5-session packages, and 10-session packages. Pricing varies based on package selection. We encourage scheduling a call to discuss options and determine the best fit for your goals.
What kind of exercises can I expect during a workout?
Our class programming will include a good warmup and cool down everyday. Workouts will vary day to day in length and stimulus and will include weightlifting, body weight or gymnastics movements, and/or cardio (monostructural) movements. You can expect things like push-ups, rowing, deadlifts, cleans, and many more movements. Your coach will thoroughly describe each movement and provide you with appropriate options based on your current abilities.
